Take a Swing
Everyone was feeling lucky at the 9th Annual W.H.O. Hold’em Golf tournament. The weather was perfect as temperatures were rising and a slight breeze was blowing over the rolling hills of the MetroWest Golf Club. The 130 players got off to an early morning shot gun start as Brian Decker, Director of Sales & Marketing, gave the green light for golfers to try their luck on the tees.
Before the players took to the greens, they participated in the putting contest, raffle purchase and a continental breakfast courtesy of McDonald’s. With player bags full of sponsor gifts, the golfers took off in their carts. Other contests around the course included the longest drive, closest to the pin, and the W.H.O. Hold’em Poker Game.
Sponsors at each hole had special giveaways, food and beverages, and Vegas style contests. Each foursome posed for photographs by Stan Kelley for their framed souvenir photo. As players finished their 18 holes of championship golf, they returned to the clubhouse for a fabulous fajita feast prepared by the Westgate Smokehouse Grill and beverages by Pepsi & MillerCoors. In addition to buffet lines filled with fajita fixings, hot dogs and salads, there were tables of desserts with margarita cake, individual Key Lime pies, and delicious flans. Inside, A&W treated each player to a Root Beer Float.
During lunch, David Siegel, President and CEO of Westgate Resorts, welcomed all of the players before he began announcing the raffle prizes, golf tournament winners, and the W.H.O. Hold’em Poker Winner. As everyone was leaving, they felt lucky to have spent a gorgeous day on the golf course with friends and partners. |
