Heat Up With Excitement at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

With its unique blend of thrilling rides, dazzling entertainment and a world-class zoo, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay provides unforgettable fun for the whole family.

Just a hop, skip and a splash away from Busch Gardens, Adventure Island cools down those hot summer days with 30 acres of Key West-themed thrills. Adventure Island’s tropical paradise features thrilling slides and tube rides like Wahoo Run, Aruba Tuba, Calypso Coaster, the Gulf Scream, and Riptide – Florida’s first four-lane mat slide. You can splash around in the 17,000-square-foot raging wave pool or serve up a game of volleyball on professional sand courts. Then, kick back on the beach or let the relaxing current sweep you through a half-mile of lush landscapes and tropical waterfalls on the Rambling Bayou.

Florida’s tallest and wildest ride, SheiKra was reintroduced to coaster fans in June with new, floorless trains that provide riders an unobstructed view of the adventure park while racing down the steepest drop in the Southeast. The coaster sends riders through a breathtaking 70 mile-per-hour journey 200 feet up, then 90 degrees straight down with 0 percent floor!

Experience SheiKra – along with six other thrill-packed coasters – in the dark, as Busch Gardens presents Summer Nights, May 25 through August 19. Each night, the 335-acre adventure park takes on a street-party atmosphere filled with the sights and sounds of acrobats, dancers, street performers and other special entertainment, plus festive food and drink, ice-cold Anheuser Busch products. And don’t miss a beat of the concerts featured in Gwazi Park: The Guess Who on July 3 and Grand Funk Railroad on July 4. Summer Nights and all concerts are included with daily park admission or any annual pass.

For even more moonlight thrills, Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream returns for 16 select nights Sept. 28 through Oct. 28. After dark, the adventure park transforms into a terrifying mix of favorite frights and shocking new twists. The gruesome creatures that infest 6 haunted houses, 5 scare zones and 3 twisted shows have plenty of psychotic surprises in store, and bone-chilling coasters in the dark also keep the screams coming all night long.

Howl-O-Scream 2007 runs select Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during October. Freaky Preview lets guests take a stab at the scares a week early September 28-30 for discounted rates. Operating hours are 7:30 PM to 1 AM during Freaky Preview and on Thursday and Sunday nights. Friday and Saturday hours are 7:30PM to 2 AM.
