Busch Gardens Goes Over The Edge

Just a short drive from Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay dives to new levels of excitement with SheiKra, North America’s only dive coaster.

SheiKra sends riders up 200 feet, then 90 degrees straight down at 70 miles per hour — and that’s just the beginning. SheiKra is the tallest roller coaster in Florida and the first of its kind to incorporate an Immelmann loop (rolling maneuver), a second, 138-foot dive into an underground tunnel and a water-feature finale.

New in 2006, Pirates 4-D, a swashbuckling comedy adventure for the entire family, invades Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Timbuktu Theater.

Pirates 4-D, starring Leslie Nielsen, combines the latest 4-D special-effects technology with multi-sensory theater effects to thrill guests of all ages. Guests experience sprays of water and a shipload of surprises during their adventure with the sea’s most hapless band of pirates.

Guests wear 3-D glasses to create the visual effects that allow the film’s featured images to vault off the screen and pull guests into the midst of the action. Surround-sound speakers built into the seats and theater special effects combine to further immerse the audience in this fun adventure.

Adventure Island, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s own tropical oasis, kicks off its 26th season of sun-warmed fun and water-soaked thrills with all of your favorite water slides, wave pools and sandy beaches.

From the moment guests enter Adventure Island, they are immersed in a Key West-themed paradise. The 30-acre water park features thrilling slides and tube rides including the new Riptide, Florida’s first four-lane mat slide.

Riptide allows guests to race three other riders for a competitive adventure like no other. All four racers start by lying on a mat and being released simultaneously from a height of 55 feet into their own enclosed tubes. Racers then twist through a hairpin turn before plunging into four open-air lanes for a drenching finish.
