Red, White & Blue! Westgate Resorts Salutes You!

Westgate Resorts kicked-off May’s Military Month with a bang, honoring military families, veterans and Gold Star families from across the nation with a complimentary weekend vacation at the Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort.

The three-day, action-packed stay featured a resource fair with nonprofit military organizations, a 5K run, military tank demonstration and a live concert featuring Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band with a special appearance by Grammy-winner Lee Greenwood.

I Love Orlando Magazine teamed up with the resort to showcase the very best of Central Florida to its more than 5,500 visitors with a family fun day. Families participated in knight training under the watchful eye of Medieval Times, while WonderWorks Orlando’s Professor Wonder blew big, brimming bubbles and Pirates Dinner Adventure showcased swashbuckling fun. Madame Tussauds Orlando and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium offered fun facts and “sea snacks,” and the Crayola Experience, I-Drive NASCAR and LEGOLAND provided activities to keep kids of all ages engaged. Families and friends battled it out – stacking straws, chalking with chopsticks and marble racing with noodles – for exclusive I Love Orlando and wildly different giveaways to the best attractions in town.

Westgate Resorts’ CEO David Siegel, a United States Air Force veteran, began the tradition of bringing deserving families to his Central Florida resort for the weekend celebration three years ago. Siegel said it is his honor to serve those who serve the country. He hopes to expand the event every year while showcasing all that Central Florida has to offer.

Westgate Resorts concluded the spectacular weekend with a generous donation totaling to $50,000 in funds to three nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping service members and their families.
