Florida summers are hot, but Central Florida’s arts and cultural community offers plenty of cool indoor activities and events. But don’t worry; summer nights still sizzle with fun evening options. No matter your interest, Central Florida has a full range of arts and entertainment options for the entire family.

Looking for somewhere unique to go or do on your next date night? Bring your date and a picnic to Date Night at Leu Gardens. Harry P. Leu Gardens screens movies outdoors on the first Friday of every month with the exception of July. Check out local artists while enjoying live music, beverages and café offerings from area restaurants during 1st Thursdays at Orlando Museum of Art.

Step back in time in historic downtown Winter Garden when Garden Theatre returns to its roots as a cinema with Summer Movies Series and Milk Money Movies. Finally, ladies, you can spend some quality time with your girlfriends at Art and History Museums in Maitland’s Ladies’ Art Lounge, also on the first Friday of every month.

Gone With the Wind: Reel to Real. Join the Orange County Regional History Center, August 16 – November 30 in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the iconic film and see the largest collection of Gone With the Wind movie memorabilia in the world.

Families can share in fun together. Located just outside of Orlando, Art and History Museums in Maitland hosts Family Days at the Museum on the third Saturday of each month. Diverse experiences are held throughout the campus. Then the second Sunday of each month, The Mennello Museum of American Art opens its doors for Free Family Day, with different themes and arts-and-crafts activities each month.

View hands-on traveling exhibits. Science comes to life with two exciting exhibits at the Orlando Science Center. In PBS KIDS’ Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!, you can explore familiar buildings and locales from the Curious George book series and television show. Then jump into a bilingual exhibit that explores the science behind sports in Sportsology. Test your athletic abilities while learning how our bodies work.
